Mother's Day is quickly approaching and if there is any person in your life who needs a little extra love and appreciation, it's probably your mom.
She gave you life.
She wiped your butt.
Cleaned your messed.
And, somehow kept you alive through all those horrendous teenage years.
Now, how can you make her feel special on her special day?
Here are 5 ways to show mama some extra love:
1) Words of Admiration
Flowers are great, but you know what mama really wants? Flowery words.
She wants you to affirm that all her sleepless night and long hours made a difference. Tell her thank you. Tell her what she means to you. Tell her why you love her so.
And by the way, you can do this more than just on Mother's Day ;)
2) Acts of Kindness
If you're like many households, mom does a lot of the cooking, cleaning, and general household chores. Change it up on this special day and YOU take some of her duties off her plate. Cook her breakfast. And lunch. And dinner. Deep clean the house for her. Or, just put the laundry away. Bottom line, give a little extra effort.
3) Meaningful Cards
As a mom, the first thing we look at is the card. Are the words meaningful? Did they write anything extra? Did everyone sign their names?
Cards are a token moms often keep for years to come. Words they will read over and over again. Make sure to give a card (or handwritten note) that holds true value.
4) Quality Time
We can get get so caught up in the busy-ness of day to day life that we don't even find time to spend with those we love most. Many would notate "quality time" as a way in which they feel most loved. SO, be sure to carve out time in your schedule this year to just be with your mom.
5) GIFTS... duh.
Yes, your mama wants your time, your flowery words, your kind acts, BUT she wouldn't mind a thoughtful gift too! When purchasing a gift for your mom, consider what SHE would like. What does she enjoy? Does she have any hobbies? Any extra splurges that she rarely treats herself to?
Also, keep in mind, personalized/handmade gifts are always favorites!
Now, go show your mom some well-deserved appreciation this year. Trust me, she will appreciate it :)
